An imaginarily perfect garden, or a real life one?

You could be forgiven for thinking this was one of those ‘imaginary’ gardens. You know, the impossibly perfect ones you see on Pinterest – with no mention of Continue reading →

I think this would do me just fine for a work desk

A peaceful spot at Tieve Tara: I think this would do me just fine as a work desk

The brain is an incredibly complex structure. Its functionality amazes me more with each passing year. Not that mine is operating more effectively as time goes on: au contraire Continue reading →

A Victorian garden extravaganza

30 November 20152 May 201611 Comments

Gosh, I love my husband. I love him for many reasons, not least of which is his taking me to no fewer than seven gardens this weekend. Seven. It’s definitely love.

The Dry Garden at Lambley Nursery. Janna Schreier

The Dry Garden at Lambley Nursery, Victoria

The joy of summer can quickly turn into the dread of the hose.  I’ve spent weekends getting tied up in hundreds of metres of drip irrigation hose and months trying to find just the right settings, but Continue reading →

Iceland poppies (Papaver nudicaule) at Ballarat Botanic Gardens. Janna Schreier

Iceland poppies (Papaver nudicaule) at Ballarat Botanic Gardens

I’m really a country bumpkin at heart.  Growing up surrounded by orchards, I love my trees, adore peace and quiet and have a particular aversion to endless Continue reading →

Location

I'm based in Chelsea, London and primarily work across zones 1 and 2. However, I do love to step out into the countryside from time to time. I've worked with gardeners in a number of countries so if you think you might like to work with me, wherever you are, just give me a call or drop me an email.

About

In 2007, I resigned from my corporate job at Heathrow to follow my husband’s career abroad. I engaged in a distance learning course with the Royal Horticultural Society and have never looked back. Now back in the UK, I hope to bring flavours of my adventures to my design ideas, from the clay tropics to the sandy desert. My passion for gardens knows no bounds and I hope I can inspire you to develop your love of gardening too.
