According to Wikipedia, the role of a botanical garden is “to maintain documented collections of living plants for the purposes of scientific research, conservation, display and education“. I’d always wondered Continue reading →

If you follow my blog regularly, you’ll know that, whilst almost all gardens capture my imagination, the ones that I am most likely to fall head over heels in love with are those with plenty of Continue reading →

I don’t think I’ve ever thought of a garden as ‘painterly’ before. Often words come into my head as I walk around gardens and I later look them up to see if they really are the most appropriate. The definition I found Continue reading →

Sitting off the west coast of Canada, with Alaska in sight, is the beautiful Haida Gwaii. Consisting of approximately 150 islands, across a total landmass similar to Continue reading →

Totem Poles at Stanley Park, Vancouver

Well, hello from Canada! I have definitely been very indulged; we’ve seen some incredible gardens here. We’ve also seen some amazing fauna, from bears and racoons to deer and squirrels.

I thought I’d Continue reading →

Location

I’m based in West Oxfordshire, but I work with gardeners all over the place, in the UK and abroad. My style of working is to guide, rather than prescribe, and a fit on this level is much more important than location, so if you think you might like to work with me, wherever you are, just give me a call or drop me an email.

About

In 2007, I resigned from my corporate job at Heathrow to follow my husband’s career abroad. I engaged in a distance learning course with the Royal Horticultural Society and have never looked back. Now back in the UK, I hope to bring flavours of my adventures to my design ideas, from the clay tropics to the sandy desert. My passion for gardens knows no bounds and I hope I can inspire you to develop your love of gardening too.
